Working with Piper

Approach

Piper approaches mental health holistically, recognizing that wellbeing involves not just our thoughts, but how we live in our bodies and connect with each other. She creates a space of genuine care where clients can process their experiences and discover their natural capacity for growth and healing.

Grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), her practice uses this evidence-based method to deepen emotional awareness and improve relationships with ourselves and others. Mental health challenges like anxiety and depression often emerge as natural responses to difficult experiences. Rather than focusing on diagnostic labels, she helps clients understand their emotions as important messengers for our many human needs. Through this process, emotions become less overwhelming to experience and easier to meet with compassion.

Piper draws from additional approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness practices, and evolutionary psychology to create a therapeutic experience tailored to each person's needs. Individual therapy often focuses on building self-confidence, processing emotions, managing stress, and creating healthier boundaries. In couples work, she helps partners identify and shift the patterns that keep them stuck in disconnection, working toward deeper understanding and stronger bonds.

Piper practices non-religious-based therapy and welcomes people of all races, ethnicities, genders, spiritualities, abilities, and sexual orientations.
